Sixth Form Entry Requirements & Appeals Process

Entry Requirements

We have certain entry requirements that must be met in order to obtain a place:

Level 3

  • 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 including English & Mathematics. (Some courses may require higher specific grades).

Level 2

  • 5 passes at GCSE level

All initial offers are conditional on students achieving the required entry grades at GCSE level. Priority is given to existing students especially those with high levels of attendance if we are oversubscribed. Your place in Sixth Form will be confirmed upon receipt of your GCSE results. If successful in obtaining a place in Year 12, your Year 13 admission will be granted upon successfully passing Year 12 requirements.

External applicants will also attend an interview and are required to provide their most recent school report including attendance and predicted grades.

Appeals

  • If an application is refused by the Governing Body, parents have the right to appeal to an independent panel. This appeal must be sent in writing to the Clerk to Governors within 21 school days of the refusal. The decision of the panel is final and binding.
